What is a Medical Coder?

  • Medical Coding is the process of translating a healthcare provider's documentation of a patient's encounter into a series of numeric or alphanumeric codes.

 

Is Class face to face or virtual?

  • All classes are held virtually. Weekends and Weeknights, if applicable.  Classes are Saturday's from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

 

Do you travel for Face to Face ?

  • There is a small fee for travel depending on location?

 

What if I miss a class?

  • EMC stays on schedule for the duration of the 12 week program. If you miss a class ad would like a review, there will be a small fee to go back to review. We encourage all students, to ensure their commitment when signing up.

 

Are there breaks during class?

  • Throughout the duration of the class, we will take 15 to 20 minute breaks. 

 

What books do you need?

CPT Professional Edition published by AMA

ICD-10-CM

HCPCS Level II

What is included in the tutition?

  • EMC runs quarterly specials. See the rate during that time.

 

 

How do you pay?

  • EMC accepts several types of payment. you may pay online directly from the website.

What form of payment to sign up?

  • There is a 50%  deposit (non-refundable) to secure your position in class. EMC does have a payment plan, if applicable. Speak to administration. All payments in FULL are WELCOMED!
